[Chronobiologic approaches to diagnosis of arterial hypertension in the Far North].

Epidemiologic examination of able-bodied population in Far North revealed time-matched averages and confidence intervals for systolic and diastolic blood pressure, pulse rate in newcomers, individuals with normal and high blood pressure. Those results enable to diagnose arterial hypertension by time-related changes in blood pressure during epidemiologic studies.

[Evaluation of blood pressure in working population of the Far North].

The authors demonstrate 24 hours' profile of blood pressure for able-bodied healthy population of Far North. The workers and office staffers appeared to have identical blood pressure profiles that are characterized by lower decrease of nightly blood pressure, prevalent morning and two-humped biorhythm.

[Dynamic changes in arterial hypertension prevalence and their relation to the main risk factors among able-bodied newcomers in Iamalo-Nenetskiĭ autonomous region].

The frequency of arterial hypertension among non-native able-bodied unorganized population of Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug was studied. Mean population index of the frequency was 31.0%. Important factors which promote arterial hypertension are excessive body mass, age, period of living in the Far North, psycho-emotional stress, unsatisfactory level of adaptation and its failure, dislipidemia.

[Organ lesions and chronobiologic structure of circadian rhythm in arterial blood pressure in persons with arterial hypertension].

The relation of 24-hour blood pressure monitoring indices with degree of target-organs damage in 114 non-natives of the Far North who had no previous antihypertensive treatment was studied. It was found out that mean BP influences on developing of chronic forms of vascular brain pathology, microalbuminuria degree correlates with pulse BP level, development of hypertensive retinopathy is associated with excessive variability of day BP.

[Features of serum lipid spectrum in female newcomers of Far Northern city, relation of nutritional characteristics to that spectrum].

Nutrition of non-natives in the Far North is of European character but also has the features of native population national cuisine. Because of these factors, there are some peculiarities in formation of blood lipid spectrum in non-natives. In particular, in population of non-native women of Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the fat component of 24-hour diet influenced most, carbohydrate component had less importance.

[Efficiency of diovan (valsartane) in arterial hypertension patients].

Diovan (valsartan) in dose 160 mg/day was given to 20 patients with mild and moderate arterial hypertension living in the Far North. The treatment was carried out during 4 weeks and its influence on circadian BP, lipid, carbohydrate and water-salt exchange was studied. Antihypertensive activity and tolerance to the medication were also analyzed.
