There were 52 patients with a diffuse peritonitis examined. The level of a proteinases alpha 1-inhibitor, alpha 2-macroglobulin, trypsin inhibitor, cathepsin-D was studied. Results witnesses the high activity of proteinases inhibitors cathepsin-D in the early, postoperative period. The level of alpha 2-macroglobulin and cathepsin-D in an elderly and senile patients approximated to normal values up to the 7-9th day after the operation. The dependence of proteinases inhibitors and cathepsin-D contents from the severity of peritonitis course, the number of interventions done to the patient, and the use of autologous blood photomodifization in the complex of treatment were not revealed.

In the experiment, a role of preliminary sensibilization of an organism in increasing the reproducibility of a peritonitis model was not confirmed. A tendency for reduction in spreading of infection in the organism of animals in their intraperitoneal contamination depending on increase in a titer of specific antibodies and augmentation of activity of neutrophil granulocytes was revealed.
The experience with the treatment of 93 patients with knife injury to the heart and pericardium is summarized. The only proper therapeutical tactics in injury to the heart and pericardium is the emergency performance of operative intervention. The therapeutical value of pericardial punction is doubtful. Good results of treatment were achieved after the use of blood reinfusion. Fourteen (15.1%) patients died.
