[Incidence of osteodystrophy after transplantation: basic outlines and orthopedic problems].

The generic term "Renal Osteodystrophy" is used to denote a complex of skeletal and metabolic impairments found in nephropathic patients. Neither dialytic treatment nor transplant is always capable of limiting the worsening evolution; transplantation, on the contrary, while it does not in many cases bring the phospho-calcic metabolism back to full normality, introduces new elements of imbalance arising as a result of the inevitable immunosuppressive therapy. After outlining the main post-transplant metabolic problems, the Authors discuss the manifestations of orthopaedic interest, in particular the most severe complication, i.e. aseptic necrosis.

[Epiphyseal chondroblastoma: natural history and clinico-radiographic aspects].

The authors intend to supply a wide and valid framing of the present knowledges about epiphysis blastoma, excluding the therapeutical problems. After a short historical note, they illustrate the elements of natural history, search into the radiologic and anatomo-pathologic aspects of such neoplasia with the differential diagnoses involved, and, at last, discuss the histogenetic hypotheses. The analysis of the classic and unusual evolutive aspects is set forth as a conclusion of the work.

[Place of radiology in giant cell tumors of the bone].

The authors present 60 cases of histologically confirmed giant cell tumor classified by a radiological grading as quiet, active and aggressive form. On the basis of our acquired experience and mainly from the follow-up films, all the pertinent radiological findings are analysed either for a more correct therapeutic guidance or for an adequate post-operative follow-up (favourable evolution, definitive recovery, local relapse, malignant degeneration).
