[The preoperative preparation of patients with obstructive jaundice of cholelithic origin after the performance of cholecystectomy].

The method and the results of preoperative schedule (PS) in 128 patients with obstructive jaundice (OJ) of cholelithic genesis after conduction of cholecystectomy (CE) were analyzed. The risk scale (4 degrees) and an optimal scheme of antioxidant-sorption treatment was elaborated. Radical operation on biliary ducts is conducted while the I-III degree risk presence and palliative one--while the IV degree. The PS application have promoted the mortality lowering from 5.7 to 0.9%.

[Methods for treating chronic coprostasis].

The indications for choice of a method for treatment of chronic colonic stasis have been developed. Use of direct, transrectal electrostimulation of the colon with simultaneous recording of mechanoelectrocolograms was effective in 85% of the patients. Intraoperative definition of a level of colonic resection contributed to prevention of the development of long-term disease recurrence.

[30-year experience with performing esophagoplasty using the large intestine].

To restore the function of the esophagus and stomach after chemical burns, in the clinic for 30 years, a method of colonic esophagoplasty has been employed. The experience with treatment of 354 patients permits the authors to consider the given method an optimal. Improvement of a procedure permitted to reduce the number of complications to 11%, mortality--to 2%. Vocational rehabilitation was achieved in 69% of patients.

[Diagnosis and treatment of incarcerated diaphragmatic hernias].

Observations of 17 patients with incarcerated hernias are presented. The authors describe their peculiar clinical picture, diagnosis and treatment. They recommend to make timely rentgenological examinations, the contrast substance being administered either orally or by enema.

[The clinical picture, diagnosis and treatment of thoracalgias].

The clinical picture of 260 patients with thoracalgia was characterized by chest pain, thoracic spine pain, subcostal and epigastric pain. In several patients treatment (traditional) failed. Different diseases of the digestive organs were found: chronic cholecystitis, biliary dyskinesia, gastric and duodenal ulcers which significantly contributed to the painful syndrome. Cooperation of the neurologist, gastroenterologist and surgeon favoured adequate rehabilitation of this category of patients.
