[Long-term experience with the musculus rectus abdominis as a bladder replacement].

During a six-year postoperative control of three patients the distal parts of the musculus rectus abdominis proved to be a favourable material for the plastic operation of the functional enlargement of the urinary bladder under preservation of the Nervus subcostalis XII. A weakness of the abdominal wall by the lacking part of the muscle was observed in no case.

Aged

[Dysuria following transurethral electroresections of adenomas with concomitant prostatitis].

Following transurethral electroresection of prostatic adenomas 31 patients, had persistent postoperative complaints which were difficult to influence by drugs. This was despite the absence residual urine, were due to histologically identified concomitant prostatitis and current-induced damage and could be prevented by open prostatectomy in another 35 patients--even with very small prostatic adenomas.

Aged

[Autoplastic ureter transplant in animal experiments. Preliminary report].

The ureters give a sufficient possibility of a partial or total autoplastic bridging over. The hitherto relatively more vital and more universal isoperistaltic portion of substitute gives rise to other experiments whether or not better results may be obtained after a longer splinting of the ureter.

Animals

[Deformity of the female urethral orifice and its clinical significance].

In connection with rudimentary uro-genital folds and polypous changes of the female urethral orifice recidive canicularly ascending infections of the urinary passages have been observed; these are due to a disturbance of the self-cleansing mechanism. Early operative correction of these anomalies has proved to be a valuable therapeutic and prophylactic measure.

Adolescent

[Results of the Hak-Hagir bladder replacement].

After conservation of the n. intercostalis XII and the epigastric artery and vein the distal parts of the m. rectus abdominis by their favourable position offer themselves as an ideal substitute material for the urinary bladder, as it is to be established from two-year experimental results and from one operation carried out on man.

Abdominal Muscles

[The Hak-Hagir skin conduit].

By a still broader side to side anastomosis of the ureter with a pedicle flap of the abdominal skin in form of a conduit and its hitherto satisfying results this seems to develop as a suitable methode for the suprapubic passage of the urine.

Humans

[3 new urinary ducts in the animal experiment. Preliminary report].

It is reported on the temporary results of three new conduits from muscle, siliconised dura and stalked skin in six dogs and six rabbits. The adhesions of the muscle conduit due to contact of the interior walls were unavoidable. The slight stress during operation in the conduit of the dura as well as the tangentially broader ueterostomia cutanea for avoiding a stenosis in the conduit of the skin seem to contribute to the solution of the suprapubic passing of the urine.
