[Sudden sensorineural hearing loss of unknown origin].

The study presents the results of a ten year experience in the treatment of abrupt hearing loss of unknown etiology in 248 patients. More successful treatment was achieved in patients with lesser degree of perceptive hearing reduction and those showing no vestibular symptomatology. A decisive factor for a favourable hearing recovery is time between the onset of the disease and the beginning of the therapy. Having this in mind, the authors insist on early diagnosis and early administration of drugs affecting the inner ear perfusion.

[Obstructing lesions of the trachea following tracheotomy].

Within the last four years 8 patients with tracheal stenosis were treated at the ORL Clinic of the M.M.A. The sites of stenosis were at the site of tracheostome, anterior and lateral tracheal walls and circular stenosis of the whole tracheal lumen. Two patients had combined stenosis of trachea and tracheostome. The authors have applied combined palliative surgical interventions without radical approaches but with the employment of longer passive dilatation. Six patients were cured, the complete decannilman was performed, one patient quitted the treatment while one is still under treatment.
