Breaking through barriers to successful empowerment.

In today's ever-changing environment, most companies are undergoing some kind of transformation, whether it is implementing new information systems, reengineering manufacturing methods, rightsizing, tackling paradigms, or simply dealing with demand changes. This transformation often is difficult based on old ways of managing the most important corporate asset-people. Many companies have initiated the processes of team building and people empowerment, but few are able to permeate an entire organization with these concepts. This presentation will provide the successful methods that certain organizations are using to create empowered individuals and teams, and discuss proven techniques for implementing these ideas and ensuring success.

Creating win-win customer-supplier partnerships.

Today's global competition mandates that each customer-supplier combination achieve a balance between the supplier's manufacturing flexibility and the customer's schedule stability. Sharing valid schedules, working on quality together, reducing each other's costs, and streamlining communications allows a customer and supplier to become true enterprise partners.

Customer delight and demand management: can they be integrated?

This article will supply methods of becoming trading partners in today's global market and will provide world-class approaches to improved responsiveness and customer satisfaction. Guidelines and actual how-to's for implementing and managing a customer-driven supply chain will be offered. Examples will be given of how both large and small organizations have increased profitability by eliminating non-value-added paperwork, improved their ability to respond to customer demand, and reduced procurement cycle times along the entire supply chain.
