The Manchester high pitch rattle.
The Manchester rattle is now in regular use by clinical staff and health visitors in several countries. The rattle is useful in a screening protocol for infants - being capable of eliciting responses from normally hearing children in a distraction test at frequencies above 5 kHz. The construction and acoustic characteristics of the rattle are described.
