[Principles of the unification of medical instruments].

Taking as a basis the calculation of the unification level index made according to the formula adopted in general machine building industry the need for determining the principle underlying the approach to unification of medical instruments is demonstrated. The paramount methodical prerequisite for unification of medical instruments is outlined and the unification of not only structural elements of the latter, but also of their mutual disposition is substantiated.

[Assessment of the efficacy of new medical technology (exemplified by instruments used in oral medicine)].

A conclusion on the necessity of developing methodological materials for estimating the efficacy of new medical technique was made on the basis of comparative analysis of principal propositions of a cost-effective estimation of treatment-and-prophylactic service in health care system, publications on cost effectiveness of new medical technique as well as the examples of calculated efficacy of introduced stomatological tooling.

[Unification of medical instruments and evaluation of its level].

Consideration is given to the general methodologic approach to unify medical instruments. It is based on an analysis of specific parameters of medical instruments to be unified and on characteristics of medical instrumentation production. The technique of calculating the unification level for an individual product and for a group of uniform products is demonstrated as exemplified by medical forceps.

[Evaluation of the level of specialization in the medical instrument industry].

Based on the definition of the essence of specialized industrial production necessary and sufficient system for determining the specialization level is suggested involving the following indices: density of a product in the total output of the production unit under study, density of the production unit in the total product output, the level of the product unification, and the level of the production optimality.
