Locally acting vasodilator drugs have been used in the treatment of male impotence. Self injection, which may be most suitable in these circumstances, often presents difficulties. An implantable device was therefore used to make self injection possible for a wider selection of patients and 37 have now been treated successfully between January 1987 and September 1988.
