[Nosogeography of hereditary and exogenous diseases of the nervous system among the populations of the territories in the upper Zaravshan river].

Medico-genetic, populational-genetic and clinico-genetic investigations were performed in upper Zeravshan river communities with population of 53,000. The investigation discovered a nonuniform nosologic spectrum of hereditary nervous diseases comprising a total of about 30 forms. An even distribution of hereditary diseases was found with a several degree of local accumulation of such forms as congenital femur dislocation, and surdomutism. Localities with especially high contents of ore deposits and increased underground water mineralization had higher incidence of severe hereditary disorders. Inbreeding and little migration were the major factors promoting the spread of hereditary disorders. Inbreeding coefficients was 0.0127 in the whole population with prevalence of cousin sibs wedlocks. The data allow one to create the regional registers of hereditary disorders taking into account the peculiarities of the population, and provide a more effective medico-genetic assistance to the region.

[Immunological reactivity of patients with acute disorders of cerebral circulation].

Changes in immunological responsiveness, including humoral and cellular immunity, spontaneous rosette formation of neutrophils and their phagocytic activity were investigated in 100 patients with acute disorder of the cerebral circulation, in 25 clinically healthy individuals and in 20 patients with essential hypertension. The findings made it possible to confirm the presence of immunological changes following cerebral strokes as well as their influence on the course and outcome of acute impairments of the cerebral circulation.

[Population genetic analysis of myopathies among the aborigenes of Pamir].

Epidemiological studies in the mountainous Pamirs made it possible to specify the prevalence and clinical polymorphism of myopathies. Such factors as a high rate of inbreeding, low migration of the population, the presence in the families of an average 7-8 children contributed to the widespread prevalence of the pathological gene and point to the ancestor's effect. The stable nature of various forms of myopathies in the aborigens is maintained by the accumulation of the gene attributable to a large number of heterozygotic carriers.

[Determinant factor and pathogenesis of multiple sclerosis].

A clinico-epidemiological and genealogical analysis of 182 patients with disseminated sclerosis, living in climatogeographical conditions of Tadjikistan permits to assume that disseminated sclerosis is an exogenous intrauterine (but not hereditary!), acquired monoetiological disease. At the basis of the pathogenesis lies an ectodermal microdysgenesia with a selective lesion of the embryo oligodendroglia system and an eventual disturbance of postnatal myelinopoesis. This condition is due to an exogenous-mutagen (toxico-allergic) action of the respective climatogeographical regions of "risk" in relation to disseminated sclerosis.
