[A new method of imprint receiving for non-removable dentures].

An original method of precision imprint receiving is described that provides high dimensional precision under maximal dynamic pressure on impression material and its penetration into gingival crevice. Comparison of the new method of imprint receiving with different traditional methods of impression making for non-removable dentures is made.

[Characteristics of domestically produced siloxane elastomer for making elastic gingival prosthetic device].

Gingival prosthetics effectively eliminates esthetic and phonetic disturbances in cases of pronounced gingival recession. Technology for making elastic gingival prosthetic devices of domestically produced siloxane elastomer composition with microwave siloxane vulcanization is described as well as the technique for making combined gingival prosthetics of siloxane composition and colorless plastic.

Dental Prosthesis Design↗

[Influence of the type of impression material, impression tray and making impression technology on the dimensional accuracy and depth of impression material penetration into "gingival sulcus". In vitro study].

Results of the profound study of influence of the type of impression material, impression tray and making impression technology upon main quality characteristics of the precise impression (dimensional accuracy and depth of impression material penetration into gingival sulcus) are reviewed. Original method to investigate depth of impression material penetration into gingival sulcus on experimental model is described. The impression technology exercises more influence on quality characteristics of the precise impression than type of the used material and impression tray. Optimal combination of different viscosity impression materials with technology of making impression has been defined.

Dental Impression Materials↗

[Guying denture systems. Part 1. Tooth splinting].

One of the elements of gyuing dentures suggested by the author is described in detail. It serves for redistribution of masticatory loading between natural teeth and can be used alone (for tooth splinting) and in combination with other elements of the proposed denture system (for orthodontic treatment of partial defects of dentition). The schemes of splinting and their biomechanics are described in detail. High reliability of the proposed design is emphasized.

Denture Design↗

[Types of impressions for permanent dentures: classification and terms].

Some classifications of anatomical impressions and the relevant terms are discussed. Methods for impression making are described in brief and their main characteristics are presented, based on which these methods are classified into groups. A new classification of impressions is suggested.

Dental Impression Technique↗

[Evaluation of structural and functional relationships between elements of the maxillodental system by analysis of correlation].

Relationships between the degree of product fragmentation, area of occlusion surfaces, muscle efforts, maximum masticatory efforts, duration of chewing, volume of test product, volume of the oral cavity were studied by routine and original methods developed by the author for subjects with intact dentition and partial defects of dentition fitted with bridge and complete removable dentures. The detected relationships are significant both theoretically and practically.

Adult↗

[A hardware and software complex for producing 3D models of the teeth].

A complex of short-basis photogrammetry, methods and software for obtaining and analysis of 3D digital models of relief of dentition and its fragments is presented. This complex is intended for planning and evaluation of tooth preparation and quality of prosthetic treatment. The method was used to assess the correctness of dental shape repair by artificial crowns. The complex can form the base for the CAD/CAM technology.

Calibration↗

[Guywire dentures].

Analyzes possible complications and shortcomings of traditional prosthetic treatments. Presents a new approach to prosthetic treatment and describes the general design of guy dentures. Describes in brief the biomechanics, methods of making guy dentures, and discusses their advantages in comparison with the traditional dentures.

Biomechanical Phenomena↗

[The comparative characteristics of mastication tests].

Changes in the values of Manly's [correction of Manley's], Rubinov's, and the author's mastication tests were studied in subjects with intact dentition, orthognathic occlusion; the tests were carried out 3 times each with intervals of 2-3 weeks. Correlations of the data of Dahlberg's [correction of Dalberg's], Manley's, Rubinov's and the author's tests were studied and the pattern of changes in the data of the tests in minor dentition defects analyzed. Repeated tests yielded better results; the data of various tests were found incompatible; the suggested test was found the most sensitive and accurate. The basic requirements to a mastication test are formulated.

[A new method of evaluation of the masticatory function in humans].

A method is proposed to estimate mastication by three indices: chewing effect, chewing performance, chewing efficiency. Definitions are given for these terms. A new chewing test is described, permits studying the influence of the number of chewing strokes, chewing force and volume of test portion on the mastication using a group of 25 dentate persons aged 17-25 years with class I occlusion. A new approach to the estimation of chewing efficiency changes traditional views. A strong positive correlation is first found between chewing effect (A) and integrated bioelectrical activity (J) of chewing muscles with the constant number of chewing strokes. A relation between A and J is established when the number of chewing strokes increases.
