[Experience in preparing metal-ceramic and unit-cast fixed dentures using a new nickel-chromium alloy].
Long-term results of the clinical use of the nickel-chromium alloy XH82 for making unit-cast and cermet dentures are presented. A total of 152 dentures have been manufactured. An 18-month follow-up of the patients has revealed no significant drawbacks in the tested alloy. The strength of the metal-porcelain joint has been adequate. No cases of separation of porcelain from the frame or spalling of porcelain to expose the metal surface have been observed. The results obtained indicate that further perfection and introduction into orthopedic practice of such alloys show much promise.
