[Course of the wound process during treatment with immobilized proteolytic enzymes].

Clinical, morphological, biochemical and bacteriological examinations have shown the immobilized proteolytic enzyme "profezym" to shorten the phase of cleaning the wound and in combination with antiseptic drugs to lessen the bacterial dissemination of the tissues as well as to strengthen and accelerate regeneration processes both in acute pyo-necrotic diseases and in continuous non-healing wounds.

Combined Modality Therapy↗

[Role of prolonged enzyme therapy in the combined treatment of prolonged non-healing wounds].

Efficiency of combined treatment of long non-healing wounds with the help of immobilized bacterial protease (profezyme) is shown. The data obtained suggest prolonged enzyme therapy with profezyme to reliably shorten the time of debridement of the wound, to stimulate the development of granulations, thus contributing to better results of plastic closure of skin defects in long non-healing wounds.

Portalization of venous blood of kidneys and adrenal glands. Effect in experimental vasorenal hypertension.

The study concerns the effect of angiotensin II when infused into the systemic and portal blood flow on the general and renal hemodynamics in normal dogs and in hypertensive dogs, as well as the effect of the operation of portacaval transposition (PCT) on the course of renovascular hypertension. When peptide is infused at a rate that causes a moderate pressor effect into the systemic blood flow of normal dogs, an antidiuretic and antinatriuretic effect is obtained, whereas in hypertensive dogs an increase of diuresis, natriuresis, and a less distinct pressor effect are obtained. When angiotensin II is infused into the portal flow, a less distinct pressor and renal effect is seen in dogs with renovascular hypertension. The operation of PCT of the vessels results in a hypotensive effect in the dogs with renovascular hypertension.

Adrenal Glands↗

[Hypotensive effect of intensifying aldosterone metabolism in dogs with vasorenal hypertension].

The mechanisms of hypotensive effect of the portacaval transposition of the vessels in dogs with vaso-renal hypertension were studied. The direction of renal and adrenal venous blood to the liver in hypertensive dogs led to an increase in aldosterone metabolism, and, at the same time, to a rise of the hormone secretion by the adrenal glands; as a result the steroid level in the peripheral blood remained unchanged. Elimination of the syndrome of secondary hyperaldosteronism with the aid of porta-caval transposition occurred on account of an increase in aldosterone metabolism and led to the arterial pressure normalization.

Aldosterone↗

[Hemodynamic analysis of the hypotensive effect of portacaval transposition of vessels in vasorenal hypertension].

Experiments were conducted on unanesthetized dogs; the influence of portocaval transposition on the systemic hemodynamics of the intact dogs and dogs with experimental vasorenal hypertension was studied. Arterial pressure was decreased in dogs with vasorenal hypertension after portocaval transposition mainly by means of reduction of the total peripheral resistance. There was no considerable change of hemodynamics in the intact dogs after the portocaval transposition.

[Effect of angiotensin II on hemodynamics during systemic and portal administration].

The authors studied changes in the general hemodynamics in healthy nonanesthetized dogs in infusion of 27/ng/kg/min of angiotensin II into the superior vena cava and the portal vein. Portal infusion of the peptide produced a less pronounced pressor effect. Elevation of arterial pressure in systemic infusion of angiotension occurred on account of increase in the peripheral vascular resistance with decrease of minute circulation volume. In portal infusion of the preparation elevation of arterial pressure was mainly due to increase of the minute circulation volume. Differences in hemodynamic reactions could not be attributed only to the peptide metabolization in the liver. It is possible that depressor agents entered the blood from the liver in portal angiotensin II infusion.

Angiotensin II↗

[Porto-caval transposition and the course of vasorenal hypertension].

The study concerns the effect of angiotensin II when infused into the systemic and portal blood flow upon the general and renal haemodynamics in normal dogs and in hypertensive animals, as well as the effect of the operation of porto-caval transposition upon the course of renovascular hypertension. When peptide is infused, at a rate that causes a moderate pressor effect, into the systemic blood flow of normal animals, an antidiuretic and antinatriuretic effect is obtained, in hypertensive animals--an increase of diuresis, natriuresis and a less distinct pressor effect are obtained. When angiotensin II is infused into the portal flow, a less distinct pressor and renal effect is seen in animals with renovascular hypertension. The operation of porto-caval transposition of the vessels results in a hypotensive effect in the animals with renovascular hypertension.
