[Anatomic item of the human ethmoid bone -- bulla ethmoidalis uncinata].

A discovery was made in the N.N. Burdenko Voronezh State Medical Academy patented in 2002 -- earlier unknown anatomic item of human ethmoid bone -- bulla ethmoidalis uncinata. It is a pneumatized conjunction of the large ethmoid vesicle and the uncinate process located on the medial plate of ethmoid labyrinth constituting the upper part of the lateral nasal wall in the region of the middle nasal passage. The discovery concerns the field of medicine, i.e. human topographic anatomy, surgery, otorhinolaryngology.

Morphology of Schmidt-Lanterman incisures of human shoulder plexus nerves in ontogenesis.

The Schmidt-Lanterman incisures are formed in the phase of "loose" myelin at 15-17 weeks of prenatal development with the formation of nodes of Ranvier. The formation of mature Schmidt-Lanterman incisure is completed in the second foetis period. Schmidt-Lanterman incisures distribution in nerve fibres of young men depends on fibre diameter. In the nerves of elderly people the distribution of the incisures in the internode doesn't depend on a fibre diameter. In the nerves of the elderly men the number of incisures is twice as much as that in the young people. The incisural ultrastructure in human nerve is similar to its structure in other mammals.

Morphology of Schmidt-Lanterman incisures of human shoulder plexus nerves.

Morphological studies of peripheral human nerves have shown that the number o of Schmidt-Lanterman incisures in an internode is proportional to the fibre diameter. Quantitative and ultrastructural examinations of incisures in the shoulder plexus nerves of the juvenile have proved some common features in the distribution and structure of incisures, characteristic for the nerves of both mammals and people. However, in all probability, in the peripheral nerves of man under certain condition there is a mechanism, leading to a sharp increase of the number of incisures in the internodal segment.

[Double kidney and vesico-ureteral reflux in children].

Our clinical material has shown that results of organ-preserving operations on patients with doubling of the kidneys and vesicoureteral reflux are dependent on a number of factors. The leading factors are: degree of pathomorphofunctional alterations of the calyceal-pelvic system and parenchyma of the kidneys, the presence of pyelonephritis. After operations all the patients should be followed-up at dispenseries.

[Ultrastructural dynamics of the muscular branches of the normal brachial plexus and in exposure to reflexotherapy].

The changes in the ultrastructure of myelinic fibers of branchial plexus muscular branches have been studied during exposure to acupuncture of different duration. The studies were performed using muscular branches obtained from the forelegs of sexually mature white rats, weighing 150-170 g. The nerves were processed for electron microscopy according to a conventional technique. It is demonstrated that myelinic conductors react to the exposure by a complex of structural changes of a reactive, non-specific nature.

[Capillaries of the intrinsic nerves of human skeletal muscles].

Development of blood capillaries in the human intraorganic nerves has been studied. The intramuscular nerves of fetuses, newborns, children and mature persons (88 cases in all) make the object of the investigation. Combination of light optic methods and electron microscopy is used. The development of blood capillaries of the human intraorganic nerves is a complex process, indissolubly connected with development of myelin and amyelin conductors. The capillaries in the nerves appear on the 3d month of the intrauterine development and their structure is the most favourable for intensively proceeding, at this time, the myelinization process. With progress of nervous fibers and stromal elements, differentiation of the blood capillaries takes place. By the 6th month of the interuterine life, the capillaries of the intramuscular nerves are mainly formed. The structural unit in interrelation of the capillaries and nerve elements is the complex: capillary-lemmocyte-nervous fiber. Further changes are of slower character.

[Intrinsic nerves of the pectoralis major and minor in man].

In the human intraorganic nerves of the thoracic muscles amyelin fibers make 62% and myelin ones--38%. In transversal sections ultrastructure of the myelin and amyelin fibers varying in their diameters has been studied. In the myelin and amyelin fibers the amount of various organells is not equal: in the amyelin fibers the arrangement density of microtubules is greater than that of neurofilaments, there is a reverse dependence between the amount of the microtubules and the neurofilaments on the one hand, and the fibrilar diameter, on the other hand. In the myelin fibers with the increasing diameter, the amount of the neurofilaments increases, while that of the microtubules decreases.

[Umbilical cord hernias].

The authors observed 38 children with umbilical cord hernias. In 27 of them some other defects were noted. Among 25 children there were 14 deaths (56.2%). Conservative therapy was conducted in 13 patients with umbilical cord hernia, 10 children died (76.9%).
