[Hygienic problems of population health maintenance under the extremal conditions of North].

A range of multi-sided studies, carried out in various regions of Far North (Jamalo-Nenets autonomous region, Komi republic, Sakha republic (Yakutia)) have established the leading hygienic risk factors of population health deterioration, including those characteristic of small nationalities of North. The consideration of the obtained data, including regional alimentary status peculiarities, the condition of metabolic processes and antioxidant balance of the organism, allowed establishment of effective approaches to the maintenance of notherners' health. These approaches are based upon the optimization of nutrition as an element of population health control under extremal conditions.

[The hygiene estimation of polyamide shells safety for the sausage products].

The investigation of polyamide shells, contrasting according to the level of penetration and layering, named as "Amitan", "Amiflex T", "Amismok" were carried out. It was stated that in terms of technological process of cooked meats production modeling the studied polyamide shells meet the requirements of hygiene safety.

[Hygienic estimation a state of nutrition of infant and preschool children age of city of Murmansk].

The present research was directed on study of an actual meal and status of nutrition of children in the age of from birth till 5 years living in Murmansk (region of Far North). 998 children were surveyed. At an estimation of an actual meal of children the data about breast feeding are received, the basic nutrients misbalance of structure of diets of children are established, and their reasons are analyzed. On the basis of the received data the regional recommendations for organization of a healthy meal in children's preschool establishments and program of hygienic training of the parents to skills of a balanced diet of children of early and junior age were developed.

[Special features of actual nutrition and nutritional status of children living in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District].

Actual nutrition of children living at boarding-school of the Yamal-Nenets autonomous district and also characteristics of their health, such as capacity for work, vitamin metabolism, physical development and activity of bio-oxidant systems of organism have been studied. The obtained results have become the basis for developing scientifically substantiated principles of creating balanced nutrition ration with antioxidant properties for the children living at the Far North.

[Medical and biological problems of relationship between food product quality and free radical oxidation state in humans].

Relation between quality of nutrition products and condition not infectious morbidity of the population of Republic Adygea, connected with development of free-radical processes are shown. The levels of contamination of products by nitrates, pesticides, heavy metals are investigated, the contents of vitamins-antioxidants is established. Was applied biotesting fats with use test-culture T. piriformis which had shown in 50% of cases subacute toxicity of the investigated samples and 6.2%--acute toxicity. In 1994-1998 is marked the growth of morbidity of the population a cataract (21.3%) and stomach ulcer (61.8%), diabetes (51.5%) on a background of insignificant decrease of morbidity in general. The priority directions in optimization antioxidative status of organism and decrease of free-radical pathologies level.

[Nutritional status and ways of optimization of Kyrgyzstan miners nutrition at high altitudes].

By way of the working program an actual feeding, energy expenditure, anthropometric parameters and morbidity with temporary loss capacity for working of 3 groups of the high mountain (3600-4200 m) miners of Kyrgyzstan are investigated. The revealed peculiarities of the nutritional status were a basis for development of the hygienic recommendations for optimisation of a feeding, improvement and protection of miners health.

[Principles of a canteen feeding organization of railway transport workers in repair-restorative work in regions polluted with radiation].

Dietary intake and actual food consumption of the railway transport workers are employed in repair in radioactive polluted regions. Disbalance of dining rations and deficiency in vegetable fat, some mineral elements and vitamins was established. For the correction of revealed defects the methodological recommendations for organization of a canteen feeding of the workers of railway transport was developed.

[Actual nutrition of schoolchildren living in territories affected by the Chernobyl AES accident].

Actual food of schoolchildren living on radiologically contaminated territories was evaluated within the scope of a special program. Their diets (school breakfasts and dinners) were found deficient in calories, vitamins, vegetable oil, animal protein, minerals, especially calcium, phosphorus, iodine. The proportion of protein, fat and carbohydrates proved improper. The authors proposed scientifically grounded diets providing alimentary prevention of possible hazards of radionuclide effects.
