[Super-slow oscillations of cerebral biopotentials in patients with transient circulatory disorders in vertebral-basilar basin].

The paper deals with a study of 30 patients with transient disorders of circulation in the vertebro-basillar basin. Besides the routine methods of clinico-laboratorial examinations, for the first time in neurological practice a new method of electrophysiological registration was used: superslow fluctuations of the brain biopotentials. The patients were examined during the interattack period. According to the character of changes in the superslow brain activity the patients were divided into 3 groups. It was possible to establish that the characteristics of superslow fluctuations in the brain biopotentials correlates with the state of the activity of adaptive-regulative brain mechanisms. This condition is reflected in the frequency, duration and severity of transient vascular episodes. Such data permit to clarify some pathogenetical mechanisms in the development of transient disorders of cerebral circulation.

[Changes in the cholinosensitivity of sensomotor cortex neurons during conditioned reflex extinction].

Characteristics of neuronal responses of the sensorimotor cortex to ionophoretically administered neuromediators (acetylcholine, L-glutamate) were studied in rabbit in the course of extinction of conditioned defensive reflex. In the majority of neurones the extinction of the conditioned reflex is accompanied by a drop of cholinosensitivity. In a number of neurones the extinction of reflexes either does not change the reaction to acetylcholine, or enhances it. The analysis of these reactions permits to assume the existence of a group of neurones directly involved in the formation, fixation and storage of the temporary connection.

[Morphologic changes in the sensomotor cortex in experimental neurosis].

Disturbances of higher nervous activity (experimental neurosis) are attended with morphological changes of blood circulation in the sensorimotor area of the cerebral cortex, corresponding to distonic vascular disorders, as well as with hypoxic and neuroglial changes. Observed changes in the nervous tissue also reflect adaptive and defensive mechanisms of the brain (in rabbits).

[Structural and functional reorganization of neurons and glia in the sensomotor cortex of the cerebral cortex in experimental neurosis].

Histological and hypoxic changes in different tissue elements (neurones and glia), testifying to active disturbances of metabolic processes, are observed in the sensorimotor cerebral cortex of rabbits with experimental neurosis. These changes indicate a complex structural-metabolic rearrangement, occuring with this form of CNS pathology. The results of the study may be used for investigation of mechanisms compensating disturbances in the higher nervous activity and for pathogenetically grounded therapy.
