[Uterine pregnancy and endometrial cancer].

An observation of the uterine pregnancy combined with endometrial adenocarcinoma and uterine body endometriosis in a woman of 4.2 with the obesity of III degree, and hypertension is described. Chorion willi, decidual tissue, large pieces of the endometrium with decidual conversion of stroma and numerous monstrous closely packed glands with arrangement of nuclei in several rows and moderate mitosis are found histologically in the uterine curettage. Tumour cells formed at places solid bands with pseudocribrous structures. Uterus with its appendages was removed. Histologically reversible endometrial changes after the interrupted pregnancy are found with foci of an atypical glandular hyperplasia but without tumour elements. Endometriosis foci in the myometrium and a diffuse theca-cell hyperplasia in the ovaries are observed.

[Primary apudomas of the liver].

The literature data on primary liver apudomas with the discussion of their histogenesis, structure, endocrine activity and immunohistochemistry, 36 hepato- and cholangiocarcinomas are studied among which a group of poorly differentiated "atypical" tumours (9 cases) is distinguished. Large areas of endocrine-cell differentiation represented by solid, trabecular and alveolar structures consisting of small lymphocytoid cells or big cells with eosinophil cytoplasm and numerous sinusoid vessels were observed in these tumours. Cytoplasm of these cells contained argyrophylic granules in variable quantity. It is suggested that a certain part of primary liver apudomas is mistaking considered as poorly differentiated "atypical" hepato- or cholangiocarcinomas.

[Malignant fibrous histiocytoma of the neck with metastases to the brain].

A case of malignant fibrous histiocytoma with multiple brain metastases in a 48-year-old man is described. The tumour (5 X 6 cm in size) located under m. sternocleidomastoideus, surrounded inner carotid artery and grew into its wall. Pseudoaneurysm (4 X 5 cm in size) with thrombosis was found 2 cm over the tumour. There were multiple metastases (from 1 to 3 cm in diameter) in the right brain hemisphere. The tumour consisted of fibroblast-like cells, polymorphic histiocyte-like cells, with one or several nuclei, Touton cells, and osteoclast-like cells and groups of xanthoma cells.

[An unusual combination of primary-multiple apudomas and malignant angiomyolipoma of the kidney].

A casuistic observation is described, in which 4 primary multiple tumors of various histogenesis were detected on autopsy in a 56-year-old patient. In the upper part of the jejunum, there was a 3 X 4 cm carcinoid of a mixed structure with metastases to the liver. The primary disseminated malignant glomas tumor as multiple interfluent nodes measuring up to 1.0 X 1.5 cm was present in the parietal and visceral peritoneum. A 2.0 X 2.5 x 3.0 cm pheochromocytoma and a 1.5 X 2.0 X 2.5 cm malignant angiomyolipoma were detected in the right kidney. The tumors had a typical histological structure, yet it was indicated that the detection of paragangliomoid sites in the malignant carcinoid slightly made it difficult to differentially diagnose it with the primary disseminated malignant glomus tumor of the peritoneum.

Apudoma↗

[Local tumoral amyloidosis of the small intestine].

A case of isolated tumorous amyloidosis with diffuse lesion in the small intestine in a 86-year-old female is described. Macroscopically, the wall of the small intestine, exclusive of a 10-cm distal part, was found to be thickened up to 1.5 to 2 cm, solid and yellowish-white. The mucosal folds were rough, appeared as polypoid processes up to 0.6 X 1.2 1.2 cm in size and swelled in the intestinal lumen. Diffuse deposits of amyloid were histologically found in the submucosal layer, partially in the mucosa and vessel wall, mesenteric lymph nodes. In staining properties, the amyloid was more similar to the primary one; it was shown to fluoresce in polarized light. Amyloid was not identified in other visceral organs.

[Primary hepatic apudoma with serotonin syndrome].

Primary hepatic apudoma associated with serotonin syndrome was recorded in a man of 55 followed up for 6 years. Clinically, there was a progressive enlargement of the liver with varicosis of venae subcutaneae abdominis and venae esophageae. There were also weak signs of carcinoid syndrome. The patient died of acute venous esophageal hemorrhage. The tumor, represented by white dense cystic tissue, was nearly encapsulated and involved almost the whole liver. Histologically, there were monomorphic cells with clear empty or eosinophilic cytoplasm, small central nuclei which developed into solid streaks and alveoli. Glandular formations and pseudorosettes occurred locally. Grimelius staining revealed argyrophil granules in the tumor cells cytoplasm. Metastases of the tumor were found in portal lymph nodes.

Apudoma↗

[Esthesioneuroblastoma of the nose in a child].

A rare case of nasal esthesioneuroblastoma in a 5-year-old child is described. The tumor involved the maxillary and ethmoid sinuses, destroyed superior compartments of nasal septum and medial wall of left orbit. In spite of the advanced process, there were hardly any clinical manifestations. Radical surgery with tumor excision and electroresection of the upper maxilla was effective. No tumor recurrence was found in a 2-year follow-up.

[Generalized aspergillosis].

A rare case of the generalized aspergillosis in a man of 39 is described. Aspergillosis developed in the presence of portal liver cirrhosis and chronic alcoholism. The case was marked by aspergillosis endocarditis with spheroid fungi growths on the heart valves in the form of fungus ball, widespread embolism with fungus mycelium and thrombovasculitis with the development of infarcts in the inner organs and brain.
