[Experience in training and improvement of competence of the medical staff of ambulances].

A detailed discussion is provided of professional selection issues with regard to emergency care physicians and feldshers, their postgraduate training and certification. It is emphasized that advanced training and specialization of emergency care physicians and feldshers can be carried out not only at institutes and chairs of emergency care but also at multidisciplinary hospitals with compulsory involvement of emergency care specialists in teaching.

[Organization and ways of extending the scope of surgical services in a polyclinic in relation to total dispensary examination].

The authors analyze the first experience with widening the volume of surgical aid aimed at sanitation of surgical patients under conditions of polyclinics. Advantages of this progressive method are shown. It will improve qualification of polyclinic surgeons, contribute to rational use of surgical places in hospitals, rapid sanitation of population in the course of total dispensary examination which gives a considerable economic effect.

[Possibilities in the surgical treatment of simple abdominal hernias at polyclinics].

The article deals with questions of organization and treatment of patients with hernias of the abdomen under conditions of polyclinic. 27 operations were performed on 23 patients for the hernia disease. There were no complications. The operations were endured well and the patients returned to their work. The average time of disability was 24 days.

[Combined osteosynthesis].

The combined osteosynthesis with a metallic pin and screws from a homobone was employed in 15 patients. This kind of osteosynthesis is recommended.
