Trauma physiology.
The complexity of physiologic responses to trauma presents a challenge to the trauma nurse. A single-system injury impacts on multiplebody systems and patient care must be prioritized appropriately to support healing and prevent further injury. Nurses are thus obligated to have extensive knowledge of trauma physiology to improve the quality of patient care and facilitate the expansion of nursing in trauma care.
