[The characteristics of hormonal contraception in women with hyperandrogenism].

One hundred and ten fertile women with such androgenism signs as seborrhea, acne, and hirsutism were examined to elucidate the contraceptive and therapeutic efficacy of hormonal contraceptive drugs anteovin, marvelon, and diane-35. The duration of pill administration for each women depended on her cycle duration. All the drugs had a 100% contraceptive efficacy and exerted a therapeutic effect on androgenism symptoms.

[Characteristics of growth hormone secretion in the hyperprolactinemia syndrome].

A low basal level of growth hormone (GH) was determined by radioimmunoassay in studying GH basal content, the circadian rhythm and the response to glucose load in patients with hyperprolactinemia. In subjects with hypophyseal adenoma, an anomalous GH response to glucose load and the disturbance of its circadian rhythm are seen. In patients not suffering from hypophyseal adenoma, the circadian curve of GH content is similar to the normal one on a lower level. A pronounced GH response to glucose load is absent in these patients.
