Epidemiology and biology of breast cancer.
Major prognostic factors are reviewed. Environmental factors including nutritive, breast feeding, exposure to radiations are described. Importance of endogenous factors such as parity, estrogen activity, immune mechanisms is emphasized. Pathological features regarding tumor grading and axillary node involvement are essential for appraisal of long term prognosis (12).
