[Demographic statistics after the GBA Law is passed].

"The Dutch Ministry of Internal Affairs plans to replace the old written population systems on paper with a new system of decentralized automated population registers (in Dutch this system is called: GBA) on 1 October 1994.... In the summer of 1993 Statistics Netherlands carried out a test to find out whether the GBA messages are appropriate for making population statistics. To do this such messages were forwarded to Statistics Netherlands by five municipalities for three months. The conclusion of the test results was that the GBA system is technically adequate for making population statistics." (SUMMARY IN ENG)

[Turkish and Moroccan persons and families in the Netherlands, January 1, 1992].

The authors examine data on Turkish and Moroccan migrants in the Netherlands. "On 1 January 1992 159 thousand persons born in Turkey and 131 thousand persons born in Morocco lived in the Netherlands....The second generation amounted [to] 141 thousand persons with at least one parent born in Turkey and 115 thousand persons with at least one parent born in Morocco. Of 90% of both second generations both parents were born in Turkey or Morocco." (SUMMARY IN ENG)

[Dutch residents of Surinamese and Antillean origin, January 1, 1990].

Data on persons of Surinamese and Antillean origin living in the Netherlands are presented and analyzed. "On 1 January 1990 244 thousand persons of Surinamese origin, i.e. with Surinamese nationality, born in Suriname or one or both parent(s) born there...[and] 84 thousand persons of Antillean (including Aruba) origin resided in the Netherlands....The number of males in the population of Surinamese or Antillean origin is about the same as the number of females, which is the same as in the Netherlands as a whole. Differences appear in the age composition and marital status of the population." The spatial distribution of both groups is included. (SUMMARY IN ENG)

[Dutch residents of Indonesian origin, January 1, 1990].

Data on persons of Indonesian origin living in the Netherlands as of January 1, 1990, are presented. As of that date 473,000 persons of Indonesian origin lived in the country and of those "only 8 thousand were Indonesian nationals. About 57%...was born in the Netherlands, thus belonging to the second generation.... The sex-ratio in the population of Indonesian origin is about 1 and corresponds to that of the Dutch population. Slight differences appear in the age composition and marital status of the population. The mean age of the Dutch population is about 36.6, whereas the Indonesian population is on average 35.3 years old.... The Indonesian population is less often married than the population of the Netherlands as a whole and slightly more often never married, or divorced.... The Indonesian population lives rather evenly spread over the country." (SUMMARY IN ENG)
