In summary, the importance of a comprehensive rehabilitation program for the recovery of a head injured child must be emphasized. The cooperation of all members of the health team is essential for initial and follow up care. Every discipline involved in the care and treatment of a head injured patient must contribute in order to maximize the patient's response to rehabilitation and to restore meaning and order to the child's life. Hence, it is imperative that family-centered holistic care is delivered to meet the needs of the head injured child. Within our neurosurgical unit, we are proud to state that our multidisciplinary approach has been successful in meeting the unique rehabilitation needs of the head injured child and his family.

Metastatic glucagonoma. improvement after surgical debulking.
A patient with the classic manifestations of the glucagonoma syndrome and hepatic metastases is presented. Clinical improvement occurred after removal of the primary tumor by distal pancreatectomy and splenectomy. No further antitumor therapy has been needed over a 15 month postoperative follow-up despite metastatic disease.
