[Dosage of O-beta hydroxyethylrutoside in chronic venous insufficiency].

45 patients suffering from varicose veins with or without a chronic insufficiency up to stage II, took 1, 2 or 3 g of Oc-beta hydroxyerhylrutoside P.O. Photo reflexometry and plethysmography with mercury gauge demonstrated the results. The various parameters showed the medication to be effective after 10 and 21 days of treatment. A dosage adjusted to the gravity of the venous involvement improves the venous pump of the leg and therefore the venous return.

Humans

[Lymphedemas of the dorsum of the foot].

Lymphedema of the dorsum of the foot appears almost exclusively in women. Its positive and differential diagnosis is only based on clinical signs. In order to avoid a spontaneous aggravation, the patient must practice foot hygiene and possibly be immobilized, although this measure is not well accepted.

Diagnosis, Differential

[Junctions of the saphenous vein. Anatomy and treatment concepts].

The anatomic account brings to bear particularly on anomalies of the affluents and the various forms of long saphenofemoral junctions. The different anastomoses of short saphenous veins are also described. Following the anatomic account there is a run-down of the history of these disorders and of mainstream current views of their treatment.

Femoral Vein

[The lymphatic system and the venous wall. Clinical aspects].

The differences between venous and reversible lymphatic oedema are minimal. Save a few rare exceptions, venous oedema are complicated at some stage by lymphatic oedema and become irreversible because of the fixation of water by the interstitial proteins and the hypertrophy of the conjunctival tissue.

Edema

[Noninvasive functional exploration using photoreflexometry].

Photoreflexometry measures the filling time of the intradermic venous plexus and quantifies the function of the venous pump in the leg. Thus it completes the other methods of venous functional investigation and provides data-figures on the seriousness of post-phlebitic illness. The essential interest of the non-invasive examination is that it makes it possible to read the phlebographic and therapeutic indications more discerningly.

Humans

[Photo-reflex rheography and diagnosis of deep venous thrombosis].

Photo-reflex-rheography is a noninvasive method of measuring the filling of the subcutaneous venous plexuses. Daily recording during the pre- and post-operative period permits comparison of the amplitude of the curves and measurement of the time for refilling. Any diminution of these two parameters suggestive of a deep vein thrombosis is an indication for phlebography.
