The association between antibiotics and oral hypoglycemic agents can determine various pharmacological interactions. The aim of our work has been to verify experimentally the eventual pharmacological interactions that may occur when some quinolones (nalidixic acid, ofloxacin, pefloxacin and sparfloxacin) are administered in association with oral hypoglycemic drugs (phenphormine and glibenclamide). Our results showed that ofloxacin, pefloxacin and sparfloxacin only at high dosages (not used in the human clinic) can increase the phenphormine and glibenclamide hypoglycemic effect. The nalidixic acid, just at therapeutic doses, is able to increase the hypoglycemic effect of the drugs studied.
The Guillain Barré poliradicoloneuritis shows a high incidence of permanent sequelae and exitus. Recently the plasmapheresis has been applied in the acute stage with a beneficial effect to the rapidity and the degree of the recovery. In the present study the results obtained in a group of patients with Guillain Barré of maximal severity are reported. All the patients have received plasmapheresis (3-5 exchanges) in the first days of the disease. Eventual side effects during the procedure have been evaluated together to the neurophysiological findings. The recovery has been evaluated in the brief and in the long term. From this study the efficacy of the plasmapheresis in Guillain Barré poliradicoloneuritis is confirmed. Furthermore a correlation has been evidenced between the amplitude of the muscular potential (CMAP) registered in the acute phase and the prognosis of the illness.
In basis of our experimental researches bunitrolol presented: a) beta-adrenolytic activity prevailingly at cardiac level (superior to propranolol and practolol) in respect to vascular, tracheal, bronchial, uterus, intestinal and metabolic level; b) beta-adrenergic intrinsic activity; c) local anesthetic activity; d) chinidino-like activity; e) antiarrhythmic activity; f) hypotensive activity with interferences at the level of vasomotor centres, of the barosensitive zones, of the renin secretion and of the purinergic periphery.

The authors executed a study on the levels of T lymphocytes and of serum Fe, Zn and Cu in 50 atopic children. The boys showed a various pathology who included the eczema, the laryngotracheobronchostenosis, the choanal obstruction and/or the adenoid's obstruction, abdominal pains, stomatitis, relapsing herpes, shock, neurosis. The T4/T8 relationship resulted lower in the 34.5% of subjects, higher in the 30.5% normal in the 35.5%. In the patients with hyper-IgE the 28.2% of children showed this relationship in the normality, but in the children with a heavy atopic syndrome and normal IgE only the 7.3% of subjects showed the T4/T8 relationship in the normality. The authors dwell on the heavy iron deficiency (72%) and of the Zn (52%) and of the Cu (33%) in the serum present in these subjects. The authors suppose that these changes come from a short absorption of these ions coming from the epithelial gut's damage caused by the daily ingestion of food allergens.
