An immediately loaded CAD/CAM-guided definitive prosthesis: a clinical report.

Dental implants have had a major impact on the treatment of edentulous patients. Fixed complete dentures have allowed removable complete dentures to be replaced with fixed prostheses. A new treatment modality using immediately loaded implants placed with a CAD/CAM surgical template using a flapless surgical technique, then loaded with a prefabricated restorative prosthesis, is presented. This report describes the Teeth-in-an-Hour (Nobel Biocare, Yorba Linda, Calif) treatment provided for a patient.

A simplified approach to implant-supported metal-ceramic reconstruction.

Restoring the edentulous patient with an implant-supported fixed complete denture prosthesis is a challenging procedure. The patient's occlusal vertical dimension, centric relation position, esthetics, and phonetics should be maintained throughout the restorative process, while the patient is traditionally wearing a removable prosthesis. This article presents an alternative treatment philosophy that addresses these concerns and guides the restorative process using a fixed provisional restoration made from the patient's removable complete dentures.

The use of a custom template for immediate loading with the definitive prosthesis: a clinical report.

A new approach to implant dentistry for the fully edentulous arch is presented. Using a conventional computer tomography scan and specialized surgical planning software, a fixed final prosthesis is fabricated before the surgical procedure so the prosthesis may be delivered immediately after the implants are placed. Initial prospective studies of 10 patients with observation times of up to 24 months have shown all patients to have a functional prostheses. Long-term studies are being performed to validate this new procedure.
