[Clinical and psychosocial models of attention to the individual and the family in home care--conceptual frameworks].

Home care is a rapidly expanding segment in Brazil. The model currently applied to home care is based on clinical and hospital models. The objective of this article is to propose theoretical frameworks that can be applied to home care by taking into account its psychosocial dimension. Although indivisible, the conceptual frameworks of the clinical and the psychosocial models are broken down, for clarity purposes, in order to contribute to the improvement of practices, so as to add personal expressions and contexts as elements of psychosocial dynamics.

[The adult health graduate area in nursing and its cognitive resource mobilization].

This study analyses the scientific production of the adult health between 1994 and 2002, showing the potentialities of the process of cognitive development in researchers in the Nursing area. It also identifies the challenges for answering the theoretical dialogues between the generative matrix of different life, health and illness expressions, which is the aim of its faculty.

[Family and mental disease: the difficulty of living with differences].

This study started from the reflections on the Psychiatric Care Reform and the desinstitutionalization process. The goal of this study is to identify the social representations built by the patients' relatives on the mental health-disease phenomenon. For analysis we have adopted the social representation referential through the Moscovici perspective. Eight relatives of the patients were interviewed. We have identified the mentioned relatives, considering those who are really different, as the center of their social representations. We have point out the importance of the mental health professionals to give careful considerations on their interventions, regarding to the knowledge emerged from the report of the patients' relatives.

[Changes in nursing: the representation of nurses regarding institutional mobilization].

Big changes have been happening in the society. In this study, we had as objective to show the nurses' representation about the changes in nursing inserted in an institution context. Eighteen nurses at a public, school hospital, which is specialized in cardiology were interviewed. Using the analysis of content according to Bardin' proposal, we construct a representation' scheme that indicates two periods of time, concrete and desirable time, and in order to adapt in a new time it happens in a pace between limits and catalysers of changes' process, to achieve auto-supported existence as a project to become a new professional.

[Psychosocial competence to home care].

Home care is a reality in Brazil. The professionals introduce in the context of the person and the family which demands the need to develop new competencies. The objective of this paper is to demonstrate psychosocial competence to the professionals who works in home care. The general and specific professional competencies in home care are showed in order to prepare them to make psychosocial interventions. The professionals challenge is to know the conceptual bases of the psychosocial model and to train on it to work with the different situations that occur in home context.

[Strategies for competence development in different levels of nursing education according to teacher's indication].

Qualitative study carried out with twenty-two professors of public universities using semi-structured questionnaries for data collection. The study aimed at identifying the teaching strategies adopted by professors to build student competences in different levels of nursing education. The content analysis exposed the tendency in adopting a constructivist model and the intention of promoting pedagogical changes in the search for a different educational formation according to the level of complexity.
