Developing a 'culture of safety' is a significant undertaking that requires both strong leadership and multidisciplinary efforts. There are a number of internal and external pressures being exerted on hospitals to substantially improve patient safety. This article will highlight some key actions that William Beaumont Hospital in Troy has made in recent years with respect to improving patient safety.
