Abnormal collagen in ataxia telangiectasia.
Ataxia telangiectasia has been associated with varying clinical and laboratory abnormalities of the cutaneous, immune, neurological, and endocrine systems. Recently, a primary defect in tissue differentiation has been proposed as a probable cause of the disease. The presence of biochemically abnormal collagen in the skin of two siblings with the disease may further support this hypothesis.

Mesoectodermal dysplasia of the iris and cornea, mental retardation and myopathy: a sporadic case.
The Rieger syndrome is characterized by mesoectodermal dysplasia of the iris and cornea, dental defects, in some cases short stature, abnormal external ears, hypertelorism, arachnodactyly, polydactyly, scoliosis, kyphosis, imperforate anus, umbilical hernia, myopathy and in a few cases mental retardation. This report presents a sporadic case of the Rieger syndrome, the findings in which include the characteristic ocular anomalies, shortness of stature, mental retardation, absent dental defects and a peculiar, heretofore unobserved, myopathy.

Control of spasticity and involuntary movements--cerebellar stimulation.
By stimulating the medial aspect of the superior surface of the cerebellum with relatively short, low current stimulating pulses, spasticity and some involuntary movements have been reduced. Voluntary movements, as a result, are able to come through better; however, if the child has little voluntary ability, he is at least more relaxed, thus allowing the parents to care for him more easily. The children and adults with cerebral palsy have not been transformed from their previous status, although CCS has allowed them to become more independent, more ambulatory, and more communicative.
[Cured brain abscess in a boy with congenital cyanotic cardiopathy].
We present a patient with severe tricuspid stenosis whom at the age of 13 developed a brain abscess successfully treated by surgical means.
