[Chronic anterior hypophyseal insufficiency following frontobasal skull fractures].

It is reported on a case of chronic insufficiency of the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland after frontobasal fracture of the skull. It is referred to the rareness of traumatically caused hypophyseal endocrine deficiency syndromes and the etiopathogenesis, the differential-diagnostic problem as well as the possibilities of a hormonal substitution therapy is discussed on the basis of the specialized literature.

[Subacute idiopathic polymyositis with rare antiribosomal antibodies in the serum - clinical course during immunosuppressive long-term therapy].

In a 66-year-old woman a polymyositis with subacute course was observed. The proof of very rare antiribosomal antibodies with a high titre on the serum was remarkable. Only after a cytostatic immunosuppressive therapy a clinical improvement developed, parallel to which there was a tendency to normalisation of immunological and enzyme-pathological parameters. The decrease of the titres of the autoantibodies is evaluated as indicators of the effectivity of the medicamentous immunosuppression and using the special literature is discussed in its importance also concerning the possibilites of the control of the clinical course.

[Parkinson syndrome in parasagittal meningioma (case report)--differential diagnosis for vascular degenerative Parkinson syndrome in the aged].

Reported is a case of parasagittale meningeoma in combination with a bilaterale parkinsonian syndrome. Referred is to the diagnostical problems in the separation of the degenerative-vascular M. Parkinson in the senile age also to the postoperative eminent disappearance of the parkinsonians symptomatic. Essential clinical aspects of extrapyramidal syndrome at intracranial tumors are discussed by means of relevant literature in connection with possible pathophysiological mechanisms of origin.

[Diagnostic problems associated with chronic subdural hematoma in the elderly (case study)].

The authors give an account of a case of chronic subdural hematoma caused by the indirect application of force to the skull (after the patient had fallen, landing violently on the backside). They discuss the specific problems which seemingly trivial skull injuries in elderly people pose in terms of diagnosis and medical expert opinions. Relying on the available literature, the authors go on to deal with the pathogenesis and differential diagnosis of chronic subdural hematoma due to injury and of pachymeningosis haemorrhagica interna.
