Career challenge: postanesthesia background paves the way.
Postanesthesia nursing is a specialty filled with diversity that challenges us daily. We must adjust our nursing role to address the ages, the anesthetics used, and psychological and cultural differences of our patient clientele. Have you ever wondered how well this background would prepare you for challenge outside the walls of your PACU? When faced with the challenge of nursing in a foreign, third-world country, I found out how valuable my background was and how it assisted me in adapting to my new professional environment.
