[Primary melanoma of the esophagus].

The authors report 2 cases of primary melanoma of the esophagus, and describes the clinical, endoscopical, radiological and histological features from these exceptional tumors. Prognosis is very poor, despite various therapeutical possibilities.

[Lipoblastic meningioma. An uncommon benign tumor].

Often mentioned and not much documented, the lipoblastic meningioma is an unusual extra-axial benign tumor. It has spontaneously hypodensity in CT and appears with a high signal in MRI in T1-weighted sequence. Its vascularisation is rich and shows a strong contrast intake. Its resection is known as easy and its prognosis is excellent. The authors report here the observation of a 65 year old women having a lipoblastic meningioma. Literature is gone through and differential diagnoses are considered.

[Patch-like sweat gland necrosis in AIDS].

Hard plaques located in pressure areas were observed in an HIV-infected male patient at the AIDS stage. Histological examination of the skin showed necrosis of the eccrine sweat glands. The relationship between this disease and eccrine neutrophilic hidradenitis observed in HIV infection is discussed. The authors propose a concept of eccrine sweat gland lesion spectrum.

Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome↗

[Angiosarcoma of the aorta revealed by an intestinal metastasis].

We report a case of aortic endothelioma revealed by intestinal metastasis in a man who was admitted for severe anemia, left heart failure, and fatal ileo-mesenteric infarction. This is the 13th published case of aortic endothelioma, and the first case revealed by intestinal metastasis. It illustrates the value of the magnetic resonance imaging for the detection of an aortic tumor when intestinal angiosarcoma has been diagnosed. The surgical treatment could improve an otherwise very poor prognosis.

Aorta, Thoracic↗

[Multiple trichoepithelioma, cylindroma, miliaria and carcinomatous transformation].

We report a new case of multiple trichoepitheliomas, milia and cylindromas syndrome. This new case differed from the others in that it was complicated by the occurrence of a basal cell carcinoma presenting as an ulcus rodens affecting the nasal pyramid. In such cases, the main differential diagnosis to be excluded is basal cell naevomatosis.

Acute monocytic leukemia: prevalent cutaneous lesions. Two cases.

The authors report two cases of acute myeloid leukemia with prevalent cutaneous lesions. The positivity of granulo-monocytic antibodies and the exclusive cutaneous site of the lesions drove them previously to the diagnosis of histiocytic sarcoma. These cases stress the problem of the immunological identification of cutaneous lymphomas of "histiocytic" type.

Aged↗

[Angiosarcoma of the aorta disclosed by intestinal metastasis].

The authors report a case of angiosarcoma of the descending thoracic aorta presenting with a metastasis of the small intestine. This is a very rare tumour in this localisation, two cases having been described among the 28 cases of aortic tumour reported in the literature.

Aorta, Thoracic↗

[Massive necrotizing adenitis complicating a disseminated herpes simplex virus 2 infection in chronic lymphoid leukemia].

We report a case of a 68 years old male patient treated for chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, presenting a right inguino-crural tender lymphadenopathy with periadenitis. The histologic changes associated with adenitis were large foci of necrosis with regular crown of epithelioid cells, without giant cell. The presence of Herpes simplex virus 2 was confirmed by immunohistochemistry and culture. Occurrence, physiopathology, clinical and histological aspects of Herpes simplex lymphadenitis in patients with haematologic disorders, are discussed.
