Tuberculosis. An overview.
This article provides an explanation of the emergence of multidrug resistant tuberculosis. Combination drug therapy, early identification, isolation, treatment, complication issues, and direct observation therapy are discussed. Infection control measures, including the importance of properly fitting personal protective equipment and routine testing of healthcare workers, are reviewed.
