[The content of cyclic nucleotides in the blood of patients with chronic type-A and -B gastritis].

A study of the content of cyclic nucleotides in patients with chronic gastritis indicates that the level of cAMP and cGMP undergoes various changes. The cGMP/cAMP ratio was in gastritis of the A type higher than in the healthy and in the B gastritis type lower. It is concluded that chronic gastritis is accompanied not only by changes of absolute values of the level of cyclic nucleotides but also by changes of the cGMP/cAMP ratio.

[Current possibilities for the staged rehabilitative treatment of peptic ulcer in adolescents and young adults].

The authors presented the results of a follow-up of 2 groups of patients with gastroduodenal pathology diagnosed in childhood: the patients (96 persons) in the 1st group had received staged rehabilitation treatment, no staged rehabilitation measures had been used in the 2nd group (86 patients). A differentiated step-by-step complex of therapeutic and preventive measures at the onset of disease brought about positive results in 94.1% of the patients in the 1st group, whereas routine therapy without therapeutic and preventive measures at the time of remission resulted in recurrence in 72.1% (62 patients) in the 2nd group. The authors arrived at a conclusion that early detection and therapy of exacerbations of peptic ulcer and chronic ulcer-like gastroduodenitis in childhood prevented the progression of disease in young patients that was of great social importance.

[Prospects of improving step-by-step rehabilitation of patients with peptic ulcer].

The authors provide the data of many years of study into the morphofunctional status of the gastroduodenal system in 396 patients with peptic ulcer exposed to staged rehabilitation treatment. High medical and economic efficacy of the method is demonstrated. Approaches to the improvement of the results of staged rehabilitation treatment have been developed. They are based on systematic training of the medical personnel, improvement of the work of the rehabilitation rooms and departments, adequate dispensarization of the population aimed at early diagnosis of peptic ulcer; follow up and differential treatment of concomitant diseases; rigid differential approach to the choice of the rehabilitation treatment; polypragmasia control; differential approach to the choice of the treatment times; adequate specialized employment of patients; continuity in the work of the internists and surgeons at all the stages of the treatment.
