[Inhibition of fading in FITC-labelled coverslip preparations].

The influence of anti-fading-substances on the kinetic of fading FITC-labelled coverslip cultures was tested and a quantitative valuation theses compounds was performed. The half-life fluorescence intensity was detected with 2 different methods. The effect of 21 chemical substances was investigated whereof 7 compounds was determined as effective fading-inhibitors. The velocity constants of the 1st order (kapp) of photochemical reaction increase with rising hydrogen activity.

[Changes in psychological performance parameters of concentration and critical flicker-fusion frequency with advancing age and in relation to diffuse cerebral arterial affections of the circulation].

Psychometric performance parameters and the critical flicker-fusion frequency are studied in various groups and in patients with chronic cerebral circulation trouble. Test d2 proves to be effective in the measuring of such impaired performance. There is a higher degree of correlation with Paul's addition test. A correlation between the performance parameters and the patient's age can be statistically substantiated. Among patients up to one third in the age group 55 and over show and affection of the cerebral performance turbances in spite of the absence of pathological clinical findings. The figure is twice as high in the group of patients undergoing treatment. The increased occurrence in old age shows the significance of pathological processes. There appears to be no relationship between critical flicker-fusion frequency and performance and stress factors. Individual correlations would support other physiological relations, such as an at present only hypothetical link with the psychic state (nervousness) of the test person. Our tables are suitable for practical purposes.

[Investigation into the effect of fluphenazine hydrochloride (lyorodin) in children with behaviour disorders by means of psychophysiological parameters].

In a group of 44 children with behaviour disorders, the mode of action of the phenothiazine preparation fluphenazine hydrochloride (Lyorodin) was tested by means of psychophysiological methods of measurement (critical flicker-fuse frequency and measurement of the response time). In some of the comparative examinations before and after administration of the drug significant differences were found. A defined psychic stress resulted in changed measured values in both methods. Children with cerebral injuries showed a lower degree of reaction after the administration of the preparation than children not encephalopathically affected.

[Computerized scanning analyses of FITC-labelled microscopic slides (author's transl)].

FITC-labelled virus antigen was analysed in infected cells by means of scanning-fluorometry. According to the predetermined classification the values were computerized and printed out by a mosaic printer or by a coordinate-recorder as a profile graph or a perspective image. The total impression of the 3 dimensional print-out of the quantificated topographic distribution of antigen accumulations within the cells can be optimated by variation of the angle of view.

[The microscopy fluorometry (author's transl)].

The microscope photometry and the method of continuously recording photometry help in the exemplification of the temporal development of virus multiplication and in providing information on the localization of the antigen in cells. Furthermore an automatic fluorometric microscope photometer (AFM) is described. By this method, the titre and that dilution required for the complete detection of antigens can be determined and an objective comparison of the various conjugate specimens is possible.

Computer-operated scanning analysis of FITC-labelled measles virus in cell cultures.

FITC-labelled measles virus antigen in infected cells was analysed by computer-operated scanning fluorometry, printed out by a mosaic printer according to a predetermined classification, and by a coordinate-recorder as a perspective image. The three-dimensional print-out of the topographic distribution of antigen accumulations in the cells can be optimized by a variation of the angle of view.

Fluorometric determination of the quality of FITC conjugates.

A fluorometric method for the evaluation of FITC conjugates is described. By this method, the titer and the dilution required for complete antigen detection can be determined and an objective comparison of the various conjugate specimens is possible.
