[3-D visualization of dose distributions in CT image volumes].

The 3D-visualization of the entire spatial radiation dosage in cooperation with the 3D-radiation volume requires several data volumes. The structure of the interface between the 3D-treatment planning program "ProPlan" and the 3D-imaging system "VOXEL-MAN" is explained. The first results in the radiological application point out the possibilities of the complex registration of dose distributions and the critical examination of the irradiation technique.

[Initial experiences with radiation planning of combined teletherapy and brachytherapy of gynecologic tumors using CT tomograms].

Dose distributions of a combination from telecobalt-arc-therapy and afterloading-therapy for radiation therapy of gynecological cancers were calculated, using a computer program developed in our institute. Taking as a basis CT-scans the bone structures were taken into consideration like inhomogeneities. Conclusions about the individual dose on sensitive organs into the irradiated area like bladder and rectum become possible. The influence of changing parameters such like distance of axis of arc-therapy can be shown clearly.

[3-D-irradiation planning based on the TOMOSCAN CX (Philips) computed tomograph. I. Principles of the CT-irradiation planning program. II. CT-irradiation planning for after-irradiation of breast cancer].

Actually CT-cross-sections are the best base for irradiation planning. Bases are represented to use CT-picture matrices of scanner TOMOSCAN CX (Philips) for irradiation planning. The direct application of CT-pictures is done in "off-line"-running with the magnetic tape set. For figuring on colour display and estimation of density matrix limits of Hounsfield values are given. Adjustment of the CT to take off scan planes requires a special work-regime for irradiation planning. Repair and use of defective CT-pictures are realized by input of specific outlines. In daily routine the output of sagittal dose distribution is most advantageous in form of a table. Application of this CT-irradiation planning system, being implemented on microcalculator K 1630, is shown for telecobalt irradiation of mammary carcinoma.
