Maintenance of equilibrium during tracing eye movements.

Horizontal tracing movements of eyes modify the type of vertical posture maintenance decreasing the role of the lower segment in the regulation of the position of the pressure center. The relationship between fluctuations of the pressure center in the frontal and sagittal planes increases. Periodicity of eye movements corresponds to fluctuations of the pressure center and these signals were phase shifted relatively to each other.

Method for studying the processes maintaining equilibrium at rest standing.

According to current concepts, two processes are responsible for the maintenance of body equilibrium: shifts of the reference point caused by changes in the posture and stabilization of oscillations of the center of mass relative to this point. Exact changes in these processes occurring at various forms of locomotor disorders remain unclear. We proposed an original mathematical method allowing separate evaluation of these two processes responsible for the maintenance of body equilibrium.

[Self-controlled artificial respiration].

We compared respiratory parameters during natural and self-controlled mechanical breathing to investigate mechanisms of respiratory control in alert humans. The self-control of mechanical breathing is realised manually: duration and velocity of air flow are controlled by left and right hands, resp. In this case, the respiratory afferent information is used to control activity of hand muscles but not of breathing muscles. The findings show that lung ventilation during self-controlled mechanical breathing increases by 7.5 l/min. at resting, by 6.3 l/min. during an exercise, as compared with the natural breathing. The increase in the lung ventilation occurs on account of an increase in the tidal volume but the frequency of the self-controlled mechanical breathing tends to be lesser at resting and was statistically significantly lower in exercise that at natural breathing. The exercise increases the lung ventilation by 13.0 l/min. at natural breathing and by 11.8 l/min. during self-controlled mechanical breathing. The findings suggest that the increased lung ventilation during self-controlled mechanical breathing is connected with creation of a new movement skill, and the modified pattern of self-controlled mechanical breathing is caused by a process of cortical transformation of respiratory afferents signals to efferent signals towards the hand muscles.

[The optimization of the anti-arrhythmia effect of kordaron and novocainamide by laser biostimulation therapy in a combined program for treating refractory tachyarrhythmias].

Antiarrhythmic action of He-Ne laser in combination with novocainamid and cordaron has been tried in the framework of the program on combined treatment of tachyarrhythmia. He-Ne laser irradiation has been found to optimize in refractory patients the effect of novocainamid which arrests the paroxysms and of cordarone which prevents paroxysms of atrial tachycardia, fibrillation, flutter.

[The status of intracardiac hemodynamics and diastolic function in hypertension patients treated with Adverzuten].

Data are reported of changes of the intracardiac hemodynamics, systolic and diastolic cardiac function and their interrelations in the course of treatment of 34 hypertensive patients with adverzuten. Results indicate that the systolic and diastolic cardiac functions did not deteriorate and that reduction of postload was associated with their favourable changes.

[Changes in the intracardiac hemodynamics of patients with essential hypertension during korinfar treatment].

A study is presented of the structure and function of the heart in the diastole in 39 patients during corinfar treatment of essential hypertension. It was established that effective corinfar monotherapy of patients with moderate essential hypertension was associated with arteriolo- and venodilating effect of the drug with prevalence of the preloading effect. Changes of the intracardiac hemodynamics resulted in changes of the left ventricular systole phase structure, namely, its transformation in the direction of myocardial hypodynamia.
