Endodermal sinus (yolk sac) tumor of the parotid gland: a case report.

Malignant salivary gland neoplasms in children are rare, most common being mucoepidermoid carcinoma, adenoid cystic carcinoma, acinic cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma. Most germ-cell neoplasms of head and neck in children are teratomas. The authors report a case of endodermal sinus tumor (EST) of the parotid gland in a 2-year-old girl, which recurred after chemotherapy. The role of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) serum level as a helpful marker in differential diagnosis and in evaluating tumor progression is underlined.

[Study of ganglioside therapy in maxillofacial surgery].

56 patients have been treated with cerebral gangliosides by the Authors. They underwent a maxillo-facial operation due to various pathological reasons (traumas, tumors, malformations). They presented secondary symptoms such as neurological deficits of the V and VII paired cranial nerves. The recovery from neurological sensitive, motor deficit have been positive, and the Authors have been encouraged to the therapeutical use of gangliosides in the mentioned pathology and to a wider experiment of the test product.

[Tuberculosis of the oral mucosa].

The authors deal with a secondary TBC case of the mucous membrane of the cheek they have treated. They also deal with the present etiopathogenic hypotheses on this subject and the most frequent clinical symptoms.
