Decree-Law guaranteeing the ownership of rural land to property grantees, 1987.
This Decree-Law provides that a buyer may become the owner of abandoned land by paying 10% of the land price to the Government of Equatorial Guinea. The buyer is required to present and carry out a five-year plan for cultivation and may not sell the land to a third person. If these conditions are not fulfilled, the land must be returned to the State, which will then distribute the land to villages.
