[Symptoms of difficult interpretation or of unusual practical finding in pneumology. Error in the therapeutic indication in pulmonary diseases. Surprises at the operating table in thoracopulmonary surgery].

The most recent reports on the subject of "Hard to interpret or exceptional pneumopathies. Errors in pneumological symptomatology. Surprises at the operating table" are discussed. Attention is called to innovations in radiological and isotopic technique and to new possibilities for surgical, diagnostic or resolutive action. Personal cases of lung diseases classifiable within the subject are presented and discussed. Cases were part of isolated groups, some observed at the Saint-Feyre Centre in France, and are given as an appendix to the present publication. The intention is to lay stress on the justifiable embarrassment, or otherwise, and the responsibilities of the chest and lung surgeon. Emphasis is laid on the complexity of pulmonary surgical symptomatology.

[Pancreatic diseases with pleuropulmonary complications of surgical significance].

It is well known that a pleuropneumopathy brought on by local action of biochemical nature (amylase) can occur in the course of quiescent or unknown pancreatitis. The literature on the subject was therefore examined with respect to abdominothoracic diffusion of the pancreatic excretion. Also examined were indications for surgery in the unusual complications which may arise, often with dramatic emergency (acute abdomen in sufferers from slight persistent pleural effusion; pleuropulmonary perforative syndrome in be course of quite stabilized chronic pancreatitis). Personal experience with four successfully treated cases is reported. The literature contains only sporadic examples and some remarks and deductions are made with regard to the controversial ways of amylasic abdominothoracic transfer.

[Immediate treatment of pleuropulmonary complications of inflammations of the pancreas].

Seven cases of pancreatic pleuropneumopathy are presented and the relevant literature is examined. Treatment of this unusual complications is an offshoot of the modern management of the underlying disease. Attention is drawn to the possibility of serious and sudden acute chest pictures with a clinical picture reminiscent of pancreatic storm. Resuscitation, pneumological and surgical management is required. The histological data for the series shows that a pleural response to the action of matter excreted by the pancreas was responsible. Early local treatment and physiotherapy may be followed by a surprising degree of functional recovery.

[A multidisciplinary diagnostic and therapeutic approach to atopic eczema in the nursing infant: the 1-year follow-up].

This study presents the outcome of a multidisciplinary approach to the infants with atopic dermatitis. Forty six patients, 40 males and 6 females, afflicted with atopic dermatitis, aged 3 months-2 years, were examined. A careful history was taken for each case to identify possible allergic disease and particular attention was placed on the relation between food assumption and appearance of lesions. The association of diet, dermatological therapy, elimination of environmental stimulus where possible, treatment of lesions and pruritus and good psychological support enable the Authors to obtain 57% of complete remission of atopic dermatitis. In 43% improvement was observed.
