[Determination of the blood pressure index with Doppler sonography--a method for the ambulatory control of late results following vascular reconstruction].

Due to arterial obstructive disease of the lower extremity of aortoiliacal type the p.o. late results (3-9 years) after implantation of bifurcation prostheses are controlled. The establishment of a blood pressure index with the help of the Doppler sonography is in this case in supplementing the clinical findings after Fontaine a valuable method for objectivation in the ambulatory sector. The result of 88% of good and very good p.o. arterial blood supply of the extremities of the patients examined is to be regarded as satisfying.

On the varying degrees of cancerogenicity of modified gastroentero-anastomoses.

In our serial investigations we checked the incidence of carcinomas in different cases of anastomoses and resections on the rat stomach. Moreover we supervised the regenerative behaviour of the gastric mucosa by means of in vivo autoradiography using 3H-thymidine. The experimental animals were divided into 5 treatment groups. We carried out gastroenterostomy on 9 animals (group I), Billroth's second operation on 7 animals (group II), a duodenal ligature, pyloroplasty and gastro-enterostomy with Braun's anastomosis on 10 animals (group III), a pylorectomy as well as Roux's gastro-enterostomy on 10 animals (group IV) and a laparotomy on 11 control animals (group V). The greatest tumour onset rates with 4 adenocarcinomas each were observed in the groups I and III, and with 5 carcinomas in group II 7 months after the operations. The labelling indices obtained autoradiographically are such that glandular hyperplasias with indices of over 13.3 p.c. and carcinomas with values of about 24.7 p.c. enable an unambiguous distinction from the values of the sound glandular gastric mucosa. Entero-gastric reflux is discussed in this paper as the most important cause of carcinogenesis.

[Hemorrhagic complications following vascular reconstructions in arterial occlusive disease of the lower extremity].

In comparison with the results of international literature the authors present their experiences gained from 515 arterial reconstructions for chronic arterial vascular occlusion of lower limb with respect to early and late hemorrhage. In this connection hemorrhage following infections of angioplasty using artificial material is of special significance. Despite of its rare occurrence the aorto-enteric fistula should also be known.

[Carcinoma in the operated stomach of the rat--a tumor model].

85 Wistar rats were operated on stomach. Carcinomas in the operated stomach were seen without additional application of a carcinogen 31 and 40 weeks after gastric surgery. Histologically adeno and scirrhous carcinomas were diagnosed. Metastases were observed in rats with gastric cancer. Dysplastic changes and chronic inflammatory reactions of gastric mucosa were seen. The enterogastric reflux is an aetiopathogenic factor in carcinogenesis. Because of reproductivity, high tumor rate, no additional application of a carcinogen and the little operative extent, this experimental model offers to be a model of carcinogenesis in stomach.

[Experimental study on the pathogenesis of gastric stump neoplasms].

The influence of the duodenogastric reflux of the carcinogenesis in the operated stomach was tested in an animal experiment in 47 Wistar rats. Cancers were observable differently frequently under various intensity of the reflux dependent on the operation method. The carcinogenesis in the operated stomach (gastric stump carcinoma) will be influenced decisively by the duodenogastric reflux in the opinion of the authors. Conclusions for the practice were pointed out.

[Animal experiments on predilection of the superficial femoral artery of the adductor canal for arteriosclerosis].

The premature manifestation of the arteriosclerosis in the adductor canal makes this vascular region to a first-class site of predilection. These localised mechanical morphological factors were malingered by means of polyvinylchloride splinting in animal experiment. All degrees of severity of the arteriosclerotic vascular wall changes were shown histologically. The changes of the arteries were developed essentially slighter under medication of pyridinolcarbamat, however, they could not be prevented.
