[Assessment of kidney function with 99mTc-pyrophosphate during the scintigraphy of the joints in rheumatoid arthritis patients].

Diagnostic potentialities of investigation of the kidneys using 99mTc-pyrophosphate were studied in 34 patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) for articular scintigraphy. The results obtained were compared with those of radionuclide renography with 131I-hippuran and excretory urography. A possibility of investigation of the kidneys with 99mTc-pyrophosphate for the assessment of parenchyma function and kidney urodynamics was shown. Taking into account a high prevalence of nephropathy in RA patients, dynamic renal scintigraphy and clearance registration were recommended at the first stage of articular scintigraphy with 99mTc-pyrophosphate in order to obtain information on the anatomotopographic site and accumulation-evacuatory function of the kidneys.

[Altitude stress and the training of cosmonauts].

An ergonomic concept of the development of altitude stress is presented. According to this concept, the altitude stress as a psychophysiological response of man to the risk of falling from altitude is determined by the number and placement with respect to man position of antifalling contact supports and those being non-contact, i.e., potential supports capable of preventing the fall when changed a situation with the structures. The analysis indicated that this concept is also applicable for describing the extravehicular locomotion of cosmonauts with the use of the supports on the basis of which the preliminary ground preparation of cosmonauts using altitude-spatial trainer becomes possible.

[Human energy expenditures during a prolonged stay in a cyclically changing atmosphere].

The paper presents the results of studying man's gas exchange and energy expenditures as related to the composition of a cyclically changing environment of an altitude chamber. The experiments were carried out on a 24-hour basis. The paper gives the environmental parameters that physiologically were most adequate as the training factor. The respiratory reactions suggest that the enclosed environment used is suitable to prevent hypokinesia effects.

[Antihypoxic effectiveness of a "pulsed" regimen of human pressure chamber training].

It has been shown that a 10-day altitude chamber training in an intermittent mode can increase the maximum altitude man tolerates from 8,400 to 9,500 m and maximum time of exposure to increasing hypoxia (from 5,000 m) from 37 to 49 min. The antihypoxic effect of the above training persists for 10 days after its completion, leading to a better oxygen supply to various tissues.
