[Acute omentitis].

On the basis of the results of treatment of 16 patients with acute omentitis, in detection of the inflamed omentum, the authors recommended to resect it within the limits of healthy tissues.

[Means for decreasing mortality and complications in strangulated hernia].

Results of the surgical treatment of various kinds of incarcerated hernias during the 17-years period were analyzed. A great amount of patients aged more than 60 (51.7%) were admitted to the hospital not earlier than 24 hours after the appearance of the disease. Complex treatment of patients with incarcerated hernia gave less amount of postoperative complications and lethality as well as shorter periods of staying at the hospital.
