One CD-ROM covers over 250,000 text's pages, or 300,000 book's cards or 1,500 diskettes of 360 kbytes. In a compact disc there could be words, sounds, charts and images. MEDLINE database on compact disc, allows to search the current year on one CD-ROM, covering over 300,000 citations from 3,200 publications, material drawn from both English and foreign language publications.
