[Salivation in healthy volunteers and patients with complicated duodenal ulcer depending on Helicobacter pylori contamination of the stomach mucous coat].

Such salivation parameters as saliva volume, total protein saliva concentration and amylolytic enzyme activity as well as their discharge levels were compared to the level of H. pylori contamination of the stomach mucous coat in clinically healthy people (30 people) and patients with complicated duodenum ulcer (142 patients) within various terms after the duodenoplasty eradication and within long-term periods after the selective proximal vagotomy (50 patients). The amylolytic enzyme activity and ptyalin discharge was higher in clinically healthy but HP-contaminated subjects than HP-negative people. A direct relationship that was expressed by the salivation volume and ptyalin discharge best of all with the level of the stomach mucous coat contamination in healthy volunteers and patients with duodenal ulcer was established.

[Differential evacuation activity of the human gastroduodenal complex].

In clinical healthy volunteers (20) the rapid of gastric evacuation of three types of test meals: the gruel with egg protein or butter are investigated by sonography. There are investigated (117): the half-time of evacuation, the area of a diameter of the antrum in the systole and diastole, the amplitude of the contraction and the frequency of it. In healthy volunteers the differentiative evacuation of the three types of the test meals are established. The reception of pancreatin (KREON 10,000) with the test meals are increasing the speed of it evacuation, but without changing the differentiative of gastric evacuation.

[Morphofunctional organization of pancreatic secretory activity (a new paradigm)].

This is a review of physiological, morphological and clinical studies of pancreas secretion with the emphasis placed on pancreatic enzymes. It was established that different parts of the duodenal mucous coat have different chemosensory thresholds to the stimulators and inhibitors of pancreatic secretion. Secretory regions of the pancreas having a modular organization are also functionally different. The module is a set of pancreatic acinar and ductal cells (a secretory component), a system of ducts with their valve structures and a microdepository of secretion (a transport component) with control mechanisms specific for the module. Pancreatic secretion is a result of stimulation and inhibition of specialized secretory and transport modules.

[Pancreatic exocrine secretion in experimental acute postoperative pancreatitis].

Transformations of parameters of pancreatic exocrine secretion after the direct operations on the pancreas of a dog were studied during the experiment. It was determined that the early post-operative period proceeds in the conditions of the expressed pancreatic hypersecretion, hyperenzymemia and ductal hypertension. Their intensity reduces as the destructive process in pancreas develops. This results in changes of pancreatic exosecretion in two phases: the increasing and decreasing hypersecretion. The role of augmentation of the secretory activity of pancreas in pathogenesis of the acute postoperative pancreatitis is discussed. Its development was observed in all operated animals. This enabled us to resolve all contradictions and to prove the expediency of the application of pancreas secretion inhibitors at the prevention of acute post-operative pancreatitis.

[Postprandial transformations of enzymatic and hormonal properties of saliva and blood].

In 14 volunteers, saliva from both parotid, submandibular and sublingual glands were collected by capsules under stimulation of sialosis with citric acid or alimentary trial breakfast. It was taken immediately and on the 1st and 3rd hours of postprandial response. In saliva and the blood serum, alpha-amylases, trypsin, common protein, thyrotropin, thyroxine, triiodthyronin, luteinizing hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone, prolactin, progesterone, oestradiol and hydrocortisone were assessed by means of immuno-assay technique. All but oestradiol hormones had a lower concentration in the saliva than in the blood serum. The concentration and deficits of hormones and trypsin in saliva of submandibular and sublingual glands is higher, than in saliva of parotid glands, the latter having a higher alpha-amylolytic activity. The share of p-amylase in comparison with s-amylase in saliva of parotid glands is lesser than in saliva of submandibular and sublingual glands. In alimentary stimulation of sialosis, the saliva with higher amylolytic and tryptic activity, higher concentration of thyrotropin and thyroxine was found than under a non-alimentary stimulation. After the 1st and the 3rd hours following a trial breakfast, in response to a non-alimentary stimulation of sialosis the saliva was found to preserve properties of a postprandial saliva.

[Salivary thyroid hormones in evaluation of the functional state of the hypophyseal-thyroid system].

Thyrotropic hormone (TTH), total thyroxin (TT4), total triiodothyronine (TT3), free thyroxin (FT4), and free triiodothyroxine (FT3) were measured in the serum and oral liquid of clinically healthy subjects and patients with hypo- and hyperthyrosis. A relationship between hormone concentrations in the serum and oral liquid and the function of the pituitary-thyroid system was revealed. FT4, FT3, and TTH concentrations in the serum and oral fluid were in high correlation. This is regarded as an evidence of possible recretory origin of these hormones in the saliva.

[Functional distinction of secreting pools of the pancreas and participation of the pancreatic ductal system in the development of the pancreatic secret properties].

Acute experiments on dogs with separate secretion of the pancreatic enzymes, either stimulated or inhibited, from two lobes of pancreas, and investigation into the character of kinetics of the secretion from 5-7 ductal pools of the pancreas showed the functional specifics, with the device of ductal valves and microdepot of a secret of the pancreas ductal system playing an important role. The conclusion is made that the final secret of pancreas removed to the duodenum is a product of a secret-motor activation of non-equipotentional microregions of the gland, being the components of an intervisceral dynamical mosaic.

[Generalized and selective feedback inhibition of secretion of pancreatic enzymes].

Selective inhibition of secretion of proteinases, amylase and lipase by the pancreas, was revealed. The inhibition is directly dependent on the dose of intraluminal enzymes. The latter's increase transforms the selective inhibition into a generalised one. Possible mechanisms of selective and generalised feedback inhibition of the exocrine pancreatic secretion is discussed, the secretion playing an important role in urgent adaptation of the pancreatic enzymes secretion to the duodenal chyme properties.

[The regulatory properties of the enzymes of the digestive glands].

An adaptation of the enzyme range of the pancreatic secret to composition and properties of the duodenal humus occurs in the duodenum. The enzymes exert regulatory effects upon the glands producing them as well as upon secretion of other glands. They also take part in maintaining the organism enzyme homeostasis. The mechanisms of these effects are analysed.

[The dynamic cytochemical properties of the protective barrier of the stomach during dalargin administration].

Dalargin influence on secretory elements of the stomach protective barrier was studied. Dynamics of the stomach barrier histochemical properties dependent on the term of dalargin introduction (1-11 days) was demonstrated. General effect of dalargin displays in alteration of glycoprotein synthesis speed by fundal glands and tegmental epitheliocytes and for mucocytes its influence may be followed up in changes of chemical composition of glycoproteins secreted by them.

[Thyrotropin and thyroid hormones in human saliva before and after the taking of food].

Saliva of parotid or submaxillary and sublingual glands and venous blood were collected using the Leshly-Krasnogorskiĭ's capsules in young men volunteers on an empty stomach immediately and in 30 minutes after meal. Contents of thyrothropin (I), 3-iodinethyronin (II) and thyroxin (III) were analyzed In saliva and serum. Saliva secretion was stimulated by spilled drops of 3% citric acid solution on tongue. It was shown that I, II and III were habitual in saliva and their concentration in saliva were increased after meal. More significant postprandial increasing of hormones were seen in saliva of parotid gland than in mixed saliva of submaxillary and sublingual glands. As can be justified by quick effect of meal secretion of hormones in saliva has reflex nature. The mechanisms of secretion and resources of hormones in saliva are discussed.
