[The possibilities for treating vaginal candidiasis with a single dose of clotrimazole 500 mg].

The authors are describing their own clinical experience with the treatment of vaginal candidosis with the application of a single dose clotrimazole 500 (Canesten 1) with only one vaginal globule. In 81% of the cases is obtained a perfect result with disappearing of the clinical symptoms (pruritus, bleeding, discomfort during excretion of urine) and negativisation of the microbiological results. In 9% the esteemed clinical result is not obtained. The authors are making the conclusion, that the treatment with a unique vaginal globule can be useful in light and acute cases of mycotic colpitis in non-pregnant as well as in pregnant women. A recommendation is given for follow-up of the pregnant patients in the last 3-4 weeks of the pregnancy, for a candidosis check-up and for prescription of an adequate treatment.

[Cesarean section and postoperative infectious-inflammatory complications. II. A comparative evaluation of 2 methods for antibiotic prophylaxis in cesarean section].

The authors compare two methods for antibiotic prophylaxis of infectious-inflammatory complications in cesarean section: 1. Widely distributed mass prophylaxis with penicillin and gentamicin and 2. selective prophylaxis with Azlocillin, performed after determination, of the degree of the risk. 233 cesarean section were included in the study, 122 of which were treated by the first method. 59 out of 11 cesarean sections were evaluated as such with high risk and respectively treated with Azlocillin, but 52 of the women with low risk were not treated with antibiotic. The results show the advantages and economic benefits of the selective antibiotic prophylaxis in cesarean section.

[Cesarean section and postoperative infectious-inflammatory complications. I. A new method for assessing the degree of risk of infectious-inflammatory complications].

After analysing the present practice and describing their experience in 111 caesarean sections, the authors present a new scoring test for evaluation of the degree of the risk from infectious inflammatory complications after caesarean section and implementation of selective antibiotic prophylaxis in accordance with the evaluation. An attempt is made to classify separate factors according to their significance for development of inflammatory complications during the post partial period. The results, schematized on table 1 and figure 1 in the article, illustrate the practical benefit from the test in the prophylaxis of infectious inflammatory complications after caesarean section.

[Surgical treatment of hyperplastic inborn failures of the lung (author's transl)].

A very rare hyperplastic inborn failure regarding construction of the lung is the accessory lung. It will be reported of an accessory lung in the left mediastinum (without connection to the bronchial system) and of a trachea-accessory lung (with connection to the bronchial system). Both cases had caused symptoms which required a surgical elimination of the accessory tissue. In the first case the left lung had been displaced due to the production of secretion - formation cyst. In the second case the unsufficient secretion flow off had caused repeated pneumonia and formation of bronchiectasis.
