Clinical anatomical features and orthodontic strategy were studied in a specially selected group of 72 patients aged 56-86 years with completely lost teeth and unfavorable clinical conditions on the toothless mandible. The authors claim that their strategy and method of treatment of this patient population are effective and recommend it for wide practice.
The intensity and location of carious lesions were studied in 140 patients with severe forms of osteo-articular tuberculosis aged 30-56 years. High intensity of carries and its frequent atypical location were observed during activation of the tuberculous process. Index of oral hygiene in patients with severe osteo-articular tuberculosis was 4.55+/-1.6 vs. 2.53+/-0.10 in the control group; the intensity of dental caries was also higher.

A modified method of bulky modeling of the basis of a complete removable denture is proposed. The author considers that it will permit forming all the surfaces of the basis for complete removable denture under mastication pressure and with the mouth closed under conditions maximally approximated to those when the denture will be used.

Results of repeated prostheses servicing carried out in 30 patients who had completely lost their teeth have demonstrated the efficacy of determining the interalveolar height and the habitual central position of the mandible by swallowing, as well as obtaining of functional impressions by old denture bases under chewing pressure with the mouth closed in elderly patients with oral cavity inconvenient for prosthetics.
