The new Baumrucker resectoscope.
The discontinuation of the Baumrucker resectoscope by American Cystoscope Makers, Inc. (after 20 years of popularity) was owing to its complicated and expensive covered spring mechanism, and frequent repairs. A simple spring device is described, which is different from any resectoscope action on the market today. It is simple and inexpensive to attach, and has been free of breakdown or repairs. The tip of the loop is within the sheath during insertion. Above all, it restores an effective finger-controlled resectoscope to the urological market.
