[Necrosis of the semilunar bone].

In this work the authors study the most probative etiopathogenetic theories and the diagnostical criteria. They examine the different stages of evolution of the illness and the consequent techniques of therapeutical behaviour, both conservative and surgical.

[Painful sacral rachischisis: considerations on the etiopathogenesis and treatment].

The Authors present 13 cases of patients with a painful spina bifida operated between 1965 and 1974. This exiguous number of patients shows that the surgical indication is placed only after a symptoms's severe valuation and the inefficacy of bloodless therapy. The 3 poor results were due to the coexistence of other diseases. The pain is caused by skeletal insufficiency. It would suitable to carry out a close research as Computerized Axial Tomographic Scanning and to join an intervention of arthodesis intersomatic when there are another malformations.

[Busch fracture and its surgical treatment].

A modern technique of surgical therapy of this type of lesion is presented. Modern discoveries in the field of materials also allow the use of well tolerated direct stitches. Moreover, the pull-out favours healing of the lesion as well as removal of the foreign material.

[Fracture-detachment of the base of the 1st metacarpus in children].

After considering the traumatic mechanism of fracture-detachment of the base of the 1st metacarp, the Authors analyse the various proposed methods of treatment. Attention is drawn to the difficulties of reduction and restraint of such fracture and they illustrate a personal technique allowing its anatomical reduction.

[Metatarsalgia caused by compression of the internal plantar nerve].

The Author has presented a rare form of internal plantar nerve compression that was produced by a synovial cystic formation, which caused a plantar pain during the load that radiated to the first three toes. Besides he has considered the other possible causes of metatarsus pain for alterations of soft parts.

[Local anesthesia: contraindications and complications].

The widespread use of local anesthetic agents in connection with minor office and emergency surgery prompted the authors to look into various aspects of this practice. Doubtless, these drugs are extremely handy and constitute a valuable aid in many situations; still, possible complications and contraindications must be clearly assessed. The authors conclude their discussion with an outline of essential things to do in the event of unexpected clinical mishaps.
